Janie Rushnell

Janie graduated from the University of North Florida with a degree in education and spent eight years as an elementary school teacher. After the birth of her first child, she left the classroom to focus on raising her family as a stay-at-home mom. Thirteen years and a second child later, she felt a renewed desire to find a purpose outside the home.

Having developed a personal interest in the world of aesthetics through her experiences with facials and Botox, Janie decided to reinvent herself. She earned her facial specialist certification and opened a small, charming spa. Within just a few months, her business began to flourish, and she expanded her offerings to include medical aesthetics, morphing her spa into a boutique med spa.

Eager to continue learning, Janie pursued additional certifications, becoming a medical electrologist and laser specialist. As her children grew and she became an empty nester, Janie poured more of herself into her business. She and her husband, a contractor, designed and built a stunning 5,000-square-foot facility, housing state-of-the-art medical equipment and a dedicated team of 18 employees. What started as a humble beginning had grown into a premier med spa.

Janie’s passion for excellence led her to achieve the prestigious CIDESCO Diplomat Master Aesthetician license, the highest credential in the beauty industry and recognized worldwide. After 12 successful years as the founder of Skintastic, she decided it was time to embrace a new chapter. In January 2023, Janie sold her business to a private equity group, and she and her husband relocated to Pensacola to enjoy retirement.

While the first year of retirement was filled with moving, traveling, and enjoying free time, Janie soon realized how much she deeply missed the med spa industry and working with her much loved clients. Through a serendipitous connection with Dr. Bobby Scileppi, she found her way back to the field she truly loves. Now, with a renewed sense of BALANCE between work and personal life, Janie once again feels fulfilled and happy to continue helping clients achieve their aesthetic goals.

When she’s not working, Janie enjoys spending time with her grown children and her husband of 29 years, running, reading, and being out on the water. She looks forward to meeting you and guiding you through your own aesthetic journey!
